WP SA Boerperd Club newsletter January 2010

The WP SA Boerperd Club is the smallest existing active club which hosts an annual regional show.

In less than a year since obtaining official club status, an enthusiastic crowd of 38 people, consisting of supporters and participants, set out to Parys to participate in the annual National SA Boerperd show.

It proved to be a very successful first national show for the newly founded club and here are the results of the horses that qualified for the championships:

1.] Traditional stallions for the breeding of riding horses under the saddle

4.] Traditional Ladies 3G Riding Horse

    2^nd place: Roemryk Inkwa, owner T Roos

5.] Traditional 3G Pleasure Horse

6.] Traditional Single Harness Mare

    1^st place: Henka Mooinooi, owner AJ Burger

7.] Traditional Single Harness Novice

    2^nd place: Lang Carel Rebel, owner M Streicher

8.] Traditional 5G Mares:

    1^st place: Henka Mooinooi, owner AJ Burger

9.] Traditional 5G Stallion

    1^st place:Pivaanswaterval Doloriet, owner E Streicher

10.] Traditional 5G Riding Horse under 6 years

      1^st place: Lang Carel Wikkel, owner M Streicher

      2^nd Place: Samjak Matrone, owner E Streicher

11.] Traditional 5G Novice Riding Horse

     1^st place: Lang Carel Wikkel, owner M Streicher 

     2^nd place: Henka Mooinooi, owner AJ Burger

The following placings were achieved in the Championships:

1.] SA Traditional Fine Harness Championship

     Champion: Hessekwa Aqua, owner A Streicher

2.] SA Traditional Single Harness Championship

     Reserve Champion: Lang Carel Rebel, owner M Streicher

          3^rd place: Henka Mooinooi, owner AJ Burger

3.] Traditional 5 Gaited Championship

     Champion: Henka Mooinooi, owner AJ Burger

4.] Traditional 3 Gaited Championship

Champion: Samjak Lawaai, owner E Streicher

Reserve Champion: Hessekwa Aqua, owner A Streicher

5^th place: Roemryk Inkwa, owner T Roos

We want to congratulate all the prize winners and in particular Erich Streicher and trainer Kobie Smit with Samjak Lawaai. Not only was she the first traditional 3 gaited horse in SA Boerperd history to triumph over her sire, the reigning national traditional 3 gaited champion Hessekwa Aqua, but she also became the youngest horse ever to win the national traditional 3 gaited championship. Well done Erich and Kobie!

We trust everyone had a good breeding season with lots of new prospective foals and a well deserved holiday the past December.
