HOEFSLAG: BLOEMFONTEIN:

The Bloemfontein Hoefslag Equestrian Festival was held on 10 October 2009 at Bain’s Equestrian Centre. The day was attended by more than 12000 people. Many horse breeds and equestrian sports were presented in a festival atmosphere. The festival sure is a MUST to showcase your breed.

The SA Boerperd was also exhibited. The breed was shown in its show divisions: 3 Gaited Universal (Michmar Dieter and Michmar Ampie), 3 Gaited Traditional (Belofte Bessie), Single Harness (Paardekop Omega) and 5 Gaited (Pivaanswaterval Fiesta & Lang Carel Oppas).

An added feature was Madeira Blondie which competes in Endurance. The horse has done more than 3000km unshod (bare footed)! Yet another example of the multi – purpose character of our breed.

We thank all the members that provided horses, their time and effort to present our breed in such a nice and professional way. We also thank Henry Krog for providing photos of the day!
